Need help with trans no.
Type 901/01 Serial no. 100131. 4 speed?
|
Milt, here's what I come up with, couple digits missing?
X= Missing leading digit, =7 for 6-cyl 1= Five speed Standard Ratio 0= 1970 (doesn't make sense, 1970=2.2 should be 911 type no) 0131= sequential number |
Yes, John there is a 7 leading the numbers. #7100131 is what I see now. The motor and trans are on the ground and I'm reading this with a mirror. The trans says 901/0, not 01 as I had posted. It's out of a '70 car, so the serial no, is making some sense. But the 901/0?
What other numbers might I find on the thing? |

Check the charts posted by Early_S_Man in this thread 901/0 should be a 5-speed w/7:31 R&P and AA/GA/O/U/Y gearing. TT |
Wow! Looks like I stumbled onto a cool tranny considering I paid $200 for the parts car. This might go into the S since it's making some nasty noises.
