Done! Thanks for doing this Todd. This is a stand up crowd.

CHILI 11-17-2003 10:23 AM

I'm sorry to hear about the loss. I'm sure whatever we donate will go to a good cause. Weather it's to re-assembling the P-car, or possibly more important issues (stories like this help us realize that the 911 isn't the most important things in our lives). I don't have Pay Pal, but I'm in for $50. Todd, I just sent you an e-mail for your mailing address.

nostatic 11-17-2003 10:34 AM

we just broke the $1K mark on the PayPal account...and we seem to be breaking the PayPal site as well ;)

MXMARK 11-17-2003 10:37 AM

I'm am sorry to here about the loss, and I am proud to see every one helping out. I'm in for $50. pay pal

wckrause 11-17-2003 10:54 AM

I'm in too. Thanks Todd

thrown_hammer 11-17-2003 11:07 AM

Todd,
Thanks for taking up the cause. I will send what I can.

911 11-17-2003 11:08 AM

Do you have to be a Paypal member to donate? I'm having a hardtime signing up right now (it's not taking my information, for some reason). Anyone else having this problem?

Todd, can you email me your address in case I can't get through to Paypal today?

themitsudas@mac.com

Thanks.

Rich

911 11-17-2003 11:38 AM

Thanks, again, Todd. I just sent you my check.

RPMClassic 11-17-2003 11:42 AM

Todd -

How exactlly is the money going to be collected and used for what cause? Is Jane just going to be receiving a check from everyone??

911 11-17-2003 11:48 AM

RPMClassic,

I believe Todd is doing the entire collection, and then he will forward it to Jane.

nostatic 11-17-2003 11:50 AM

I'm collecting the money, and then how it gets disbursed is up to the family. If they want to use it to get the car fixed up (ie pay for parts and Pelicanites do the work or have a shop do it) then we'll use it that way. If it is a better choice to just send the family the cash to help, that's fine too. I think that Chris and/or Wayne is going to contact the family and we'll go from there.

RPMClassic 11-17-2003 11:57 AM

So you are working with Wayne and Jane on this?? How long are you collecting for?

nostatic 11-17-2003 12:16 PM

I've sent email to Wayne to coordinate things. I have not contacted Jane directly as I figure there should be a single point person for that aspect of things. I figure we'll likely collect through the week.

dhoward 11-17-2003 12:21 PM

Done.
Thanks!

Adam 11-17-2003 02:56 PM

Todd,

You've got more cash. Thanks for co-ordinating this, man. :)

I think you need a link to the original thread posted by Wayne.

Edit your first message with a link to the original posting. That will help people know what this is about.

makaio 11-17-2003 07:39 PM

I e-mailed you a couple of days ago for your mailing address, but never received a response. I don't have Pay Pal. :(

Can you let me know?
chad.bowser@northgate.com

nostatic 11-20-2003 05:04 PM

you've got email and PM. I think my email to you bounced the first time...

Silveresrty911S 11-24-2003 05:44 PM

Just Paypaled you and was wondering if I'm in time for the Bennet Porsche Fund, have we broken 4,000 yet?

nostatic 11-24-2003 06:08 PM

funny you should mention that...we passed $4k in Paypal this afternoon.

scottb 11-24-2003 06:13 PM

Todd: I understand you were overheard today talking about your upcoming trip to the Cayman Islands. Is there something you'd like to tell us, old friend?

Seriously, though, thanks for stepping up to the plate and coordinating this. Even though you drive an SC, you're still a good guy! :D

Simply awesome! Regardless if it goes towards finishing Barry's 911 or towards his children's education, this is trully an awesome event.

lateapex911 11-24-2003 07:04 PM

Between this and the other thread, it's great to see a bunch of guys that most folks write off as "Snobs", step up to the plate, almost unanimously, and help out the family of a guy who dedicated his life to helping others in their time of need.

It is truly heartwarming to see diverse communities come together, and the internet has been instrumental.

Thanks to Wayne, too, as this would never have happened without his creation of this forum, which has grown beyond his wildest dreams, I bet.

Kudos to all all of you.

feelyx 11-24-2003 09:28 PM

how about a sticky on this one?
