Boston guilt trip...
Hello all,
I have been absent so long my ID no longer works!! Goes to show the fortitude of our automobiles! I am in need of a recomendation for a boston mechanic for an oil change. I live in the south end and close would be best... I have just started medical school here and have been neglecting my dear car I brought over from California where I lived. So, as the first snow storm is forcast for this weekend I could use sugestions as to how one handles this. Namely what oil weight is suggested? Does one need to uncover one's car from the snow each time or can one just wait until the car is needed? I use it mainly on weekends and it is parked outside, in the loft complex parking lot - a luxury out this way I am assured?! Finnaly do you local guys have a car wash place you like? One that does not use the roll thru machine. I miss cali and salut those of you out there! Jean-Paul |

JP,
Herb Chambers Motor Cars is a top flight dealer/shop. They are in Sommerville. (617) 666-4100 I think Jerry Pelegrini runs a fine shop in Natick - European Performance Engineering. (508) 651-1316 And yes, you should cover your car. Great to have a winter Porsche for the weekends but the snow last a long time out here and the cover would be smart. Lastly, changing your own oil is no big deal. You might want to consider that. Also, go with a synthetic (Mobil 1, 10W/40 or 15W/50). The synthetics are much better for winter starts than conventional. Chris
