Project '72 part 5........ its GREEN!

Well, I ended up deciding on Lime Green, (actually called GelbGruen) which was a factory color in the early/middle 70s. It is quite bright! These pics were taken inside, it looks much richer out in the sun. It was actually nice to put some parts back on the car after taking everything off the last couple of weeks! I do have the black Carrera script for the complete RSR look. I will also post some pics of the hood when hes done with it. When you put an oil cooler up against the front, there isnt much room for airflow. Some people cut the front and put in the custom box which moves the air down and out the bottom, but I went with a cut hood instead. The only way I can decribe it is its like the new GT40, or a WSC car, where air goes through the cooler and up through the hood and then over the car. More on that later.. Anyway, here is some pics.

Snake man, let me be the first to say AWESOME!

I'm interested in seeing how you perform the cut in the hood. I have seen it in pictures before, but never in great detail.

Jim Richards 11-18-2003 03:57 AM

Is that color chartruese (sp?)? You're going to have a wild RSR, rattlsnak. :)

Andras 11-18-2003 04:03 AM

Rattlesnake,

The name of the color in German "gelb gruen" means yellow green in English (sorry that I can't do the umlauts over the "u" with this program on the computer. Tha't why in German the "e" following the "u" replaces the umlaut.

That color is great, bright, and sure to be noticed.

Try the car without the script first, and see if you like it. One of the nice things about Porsche is that they all look like they were sculpted out of soap, and then the designer washed his hands with the soap. So nice, so smooth, so round, so saucy

I'm not sure it needs any script to detract from its shape.

Cheers..............Andras

"But officer, are you sure it was my lime green 911 you saw back there?"

Joe Bob 11-18-2003 07:03 AM

Very green, the soccer Mom's should notice you and give way...white script might be more in theme.....

I very much like the color. It's also my kid's favorite color. They saw it on the monitor and said....ooohhh, Daddy do yours like that......
