Fuel Pump Longevity?

So, how long do the 87-89 3.2 Carrera pumps usually last?

Don't know the usual, but I just replaced my '87 with 110K.

as long as you dont use ethanol or alcahol like that pour in tank octane boost crap i bet it would last over 100k

Mine quit at approx. 92,000 miles. I "believe" it was original.

My '88's seized with no warnings at ~96K.

140k miles. See the "Place yer bets" thread.

That's precisely the reason that I just purchased one recently. Cuz it seems to be about "that" time. With a car in this year group its all about preventive mx. I just passed 100K.

Something to check - a common cause of fuel pump failure that I've seen is rust in the tank.
