Headers are finally done
HP-junkies and other interessted:
We finally got our headers TIG-welded. As you can see, our TIG-welder didn't quite use our detailed CAD-model, but he was very creative and used non-standard pieces of tubing to create pretty compact headers with almost equal-length primaries (even if it's not required in turbocharged cars). There is still some work to do, as porting of collector and sand-blasting weld seams. As always, headers are compromise between space and teoretical model, but we are quite pleased. http://buster/project911/log_images/header-4.jpg |

Love It....a work of art.
What does one do to smooth out the welds on the inside of the pipe? Aside from a process such as extrudehone I can think of a clean way to do it. |
