Alternator Light. Question and Problems
1973 911 Question!
The alternator light when I ran the new wire at first key turn would light up but in the start position without starting the car doesn’t light until I start the starter. Once the car starts and is running on its own the light goes out? Is that normal? Or should the light be on no matter if its in the acc position or the start position Is this correct? Because i had to run a new wire to the light because the old one must have been messed up or something. Heres another question! Ok here’s the scoop I ran a new line to the alt gauge. Im not quite sure if its charging yet. However I found a strange thing. The battery on the left hand side was fully charged and the battery on the right wasn’t. With this configured like this the car would not start too low of power but if I removed the battery on the passenger side the car would start with no loss in power. Strange huh? Or is this normal? |

and many circuts in many cars are not wired to the "start" lug on the switch. not judging the sw design. anyway, it never caught my attention if my cars lite was off in "start".. but I do remember other cars where the lite went off in "start" .......Ron |
