Targa bar cover restore
I am having my targa bar cover repainted black.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I'll be the first - do a search. There are several very good posts on doing this, complete with pictures. (I know, as I've done it myself, though I left the bar on the car.) What you tell the shop is up to you - I personally used Wurth's Satin Black when I redid mine earlier in the year. I wanted some sheen, but not too much. I then waxed it to provide protection to the paint. Some have said that the Targa bar originally came from the factory as flat black - I think it depends upon the look you're after. Removal is not too difficult (I'm told); there are 2 nuts in each rear wheel well that you have to contend with. Good luck with it and post pictures when its done.
