Porsche Crest How to fit "modern" seats in '72 Targa?

Hi all,

Anyone know what do I need todo to fit a couple of seats from 1978 in a 911 from 1972?

Are there any drawings/diagrams availible or will I have to start from scratch?

/Christian

I know of at least one vendor who can supply adaptors for this application. As I recall the cost was in the $50 range. I'm not sure if Pelican supplies these, but another vendor with the same initials (PP) whom it might not be good form to mention on this forum, does. BTDT, 74 highback seats (basically the same as 911SC seats) in a 73 targa.

Hi,

BTDT also. '77's into a '73

You will need adapters for the seats (newer seats are 16" wide vs 18" wide for the early ones) and a way to attach the lap portion of your seat belts to your car.

This has been discussed numerous times. Do a search for Seat Adapters.

2" x 1/8" flat steel from Home Depot and a drill bit will do it.

I used 4 4"x1/4" steel plates from a local steel supplier and a drill bit to mount a set of aftermarket seats. Add some black paint for a little beauty. Total cost $28.
