Driveshaft

I am searching for information on what Haynes workshop manual refers to as a Nadello driveshaft (1965 911). Have done forum searches to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Steve.

Thanks for the info and links, Harry. My wife and I bought the 911 in 1978, were the 3rd owners(had 28K miles on it). She and I drove it till 81 or so. We have stored the car since then (family and business grew) Finally have a little spare time to initiate restoration. The Nadello are worn, looks to be a job for our machinist--perhaps turn yokes to accept standard crosses. Sincerely appreciate your help. Steve

I think a better approach may be to use an updated CV joint.

Harry. plan on dropping engine this weekend (if I'm not shoveling snow). Extent of wear as yet to be determined, but I believe it was the primary reason for storing 911 (vibration in seat ). Expect completed project to be a weed-end driver--. Have a feeling I am in store for a few surprises re/parts availability & cost. (Should have bought those Webbers back in '80-- oh well). Thanks again.

most were swapped to CV type axles, flanges, and stubs. you should too. i'm parting out a '68 with a complete CV setup, so if you decide to go that route, let me know.

Sounds like a good project. Those early SWB cars do have a lot of character. A buddy of mine runs a hot rod (2.7 L) 1966 911 at autocross. Quite the sight. Usually finishes in top five for TTOD.

As far as parts, you may want to start keeping an eye out for "distressed" parts.
