Judging by the torsion bar holes, that car in the photo looks like a G50 car. A 930 with a blown motor is a good candidate for a 3.6 swap and backdating.
Just lose the 4-speed. Apparently it doesn't work very well with the 3.6. |
Actualy the add said none turbo wide body , it has the 3.6 and tranny, Kevin

Paul,
Any more details on your car would be great. What did you start out with? Interior photos? It looks very professional and purposeful. I too love the wheels. Do you use a roll cage, cant see it in the pictures? Is this street driven other than to get it to the track? I'd imagine the rear window would be very tempting for the smart arses to drop rubbish into the vent holes. Cheers Mark |
>>"I should end up with @ 15K Total in mine doing 95% of the work myself."
Plus the car? Or 15 total with the car included?<< Including the car. I got it complete for 1.5K. Kinda of a 'found in a barn' story. |
Ratt.....you should call that "found under a a Chrismas tree"..... not "found in a barn". $1500 is a steal or a gift. I'll assume it was the latter :)

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1069613473.jpg I saw this car at the Porsche coral at the Monterey Historics this summer. Kind of a funny story. I had just taken a few pictures and some guy walks over and mutters. "the tail's not period correct." I rolled my eyes back so far I got a headache. Nice car! |
Thanks for the nice response on my car.
For fun, I added up my expenses on the car last night. It totaled up to around $55,000 plus about 200 hours of my time (not included in that 55K) The wheels are RSR type magnesium centerlocks, similar to but different than 917. For those who are interested, I just posted a duck tail/Turbo instalation how-to with pix on the on the rennlist turbo 911 (930) forum. I may be selling this beast in the near future. It seems that for me, the fun part is the build process and once the car is finished, I want to start on the next project.;) Cheers, PaulSmileWavy |
Why not do something w/ your '90 964. That would be a wonderful platform to start w/?
|
Mark - A mate of mine in Perth (West Aust) is/will be VERY interested in your 964 when its up for sale. Please give me a heads up (pm?) when you are ready to move north. Cheers - Ryan
