nice job finding the problem, the spring on my brandnew POV is mousetrap strong. you think a thicker o ring will skew the lid? i am with RUF i bet your's may be defective. was it hard to remove?

Not too hard to remove, but a little messy. I just chipped away the epoxy I used, cleaned it really well. Then scuffed up the edges so that the new epoxy would stick better. My o-ring and valve look fine, but the spring does seem to be weak. On a thread over on rennlist the poster used a mousetrap spring to strengthen his lid. I was planning on trying this first.

Have you tired re-seating the o-ring using the door. If you pull the ring out and then use the door to push it back in place you get a perfect mating surface. With a perfect mating surface you don't need a strong spring.
