911sc engine into 911t
Iam biulding a post historic rally car
The problem i have is mating the electrics ,which engine loom should i use, which spark box 6or 3 pin. should i use the 911T electrics board or the SC one SC early or late distributor Any other advise you could give me on this convertion would be very welcome and any other threads Thanks |
My conversion was professionally done using all SC electrics. However, these were all available from a donor car and mine was such a hybrid to start with that it was perhaps the easisest way.
Will your car be legal as a post-historic? |
Thanks for your help. Yes it has been agreed that you can run a 3ltr engine on webers in post historics, have you used the main loom from the T or the SC
Thankyou |
Mine has everyting from an SC, inc the CIS. I hope your as happy with your 200 ponies as I am.

I am doing the same conversion. I am using the SC electronics board plugged into the 14-pin wire harness. There are a few wires to swap in the plug but it is straightforward. I did it this way so that the engine wire harness would easily plug into the 6-pin CD. It also allows the use of the CIS. If you have an engine harness from the 71 and plan to use carbs I would keep the 71 electronics board and swap the engine harness to the 3.0.

Hmm.. if the longblock is going to be a 3.0 but it's carb'ed the only thing you would need to worry about would be the CD box/ignition. If you already had a factory box CDI I would just use the whole 71 harness since no swapping is needed just plug and play (assuming the sensors will be compatible.

Don't forget that you may need to change the tach depending on which ignition system you use. Also the oil pressure sensor and oil temperature senders are different on the SC than the T motor. To use T gauges I think you'll need to back date the sensors on the SC motor.

Thanks for the advise. hoping to get the electrics sorted out this weekend
Jamie not seen a photo of the pallas lights hope they are Ok |
I just painted them the other day. I should have them installed this weekend along with the engine. Thanks for asking.
ONe more thing... If you use a 71 harness you will have to separate the Hall-effect pigtail for the distributor. Its completely different and does not just have a single trigger wire like points. |
what year is your T and what rtranny did it have in it?
