Phoenix AZ Events?

My wife and I will be in Phoenix next weekend on our trip back to NC with our 911. Any events, P-car in particular, going on then?

If not can anyone recommend a good day trip to see the local sights?

Thanks.

Hey Lee & Halm,

How about doing the Sedona loop thru Prescott again. Cant hardly find a better run than that, and the weather will be awesome...

Or, we could do F1 Race Factory on Friday night then drive Saturday. Although, I'm just now recovering from two races I did last Tuesday so that might not be a good idea. My shoulders, back, and arms were toast!

uh, Friday is Halloween, right? I will be bumping around the house with the kids and neighbors. We are having a mini block party. The 7-8 houses around me are going to hang out here.

Now every Saturday night there is the Pavillions car show that I would highly recommend. They have the most amazing cars there EVERY Sat night. I say head out for a relatively short drive Saturday morning and get back around 2pm. Take a breather and then go over to the Pavillions around 5-6pm.

Halm, where are you starting from?

Oops. Good catch Don. Pavillions works for me too. Only thing is that we'd have to get back in time to scrub the bugs off before heading to the show.

You're welcome to ride along with me... assuming you haven't tripped across your next P car yet.

Are we talking about a run on Saturday, the 1st? I should be up for that, don't have any plans that I know of.

I just found out that my wife has to work on the 1st. I'd still be up for Pavillions that evening, but looks like the drive is out for me that weekend.

Let me know what the final plans are. Should be in town that weekend. No 911 yet but have other things to drive!

Starting to sound like an organized run to see the sites might be tough to organize. Can someone recommend a route for us? We have heard that the Prescott, Sedona areas are beautiful.

Halm, Provided my car is available I'd gladly lead the way for the Phoenix, Sedona, Precott loop. Takes about 6 hours with lunch. That would allow a little rest time before going to the Pavillions. LOTS of nice hot rods etc. there. Stay tuned...

Thanks AZ! I amin Santa Barbara on the shake down cruise but should be able to dial up the Internet each night to see what is happening.

Hope you get the car going in that a tour is always more fun with other P-cars.

Depending on when and where the starting point is I could probably meet up with you guys for a bit. I'd have my 3.5 year old along so we'd have to pass on the full route.

I highly recommend that you take highway 60 to wickenburg, then 89 (?) to yarnell to prescott (over a fun mountain pass!). Then from Prescott, take 89A to Jerome (another mtn pass), then from jerome you can go to sedona up 89 (again!) thru oak creek canyon to flagstaff. From Flagstaff, you can blow back on I17 to PHX, or if you realy want more twisties, take the lake mary road to payson, and then back to mesa arizona. If you want more specific directions, I can help. If I had the time, I would love to go on this with you, but I already have some commitments I cannot break (i.e, 20th anniversary).

Bruce, That's exactly what I had in mind only in reverse! But I'm good going either direction.
Sorry you cant make it, congrats on your 20th.

Lee, Glad to hear you can make it, at least part of the way!

Looking forward to it guys...
