Dropped 3 inches!!!

Hey everyone,
I mean it in a good way... I lowered my car yesterday, well the back end anyway, the front should be coming down tomorrow. It's about time, I'm sick of not seeing any sky in the rearview mirror, the car has a nasty rake with only the rear lowered.
I installed H&R springs and did a manual adjustment on the shocks while the old springs were off to get a nicer ride height. I kind of wish I'd gone with higher spring rates, but this is still a huge improvement over the stock setup.
This weekend my boss and I are going to do a nice setup on it and add 1.5 degrees of negative camber to the rear wheels for some more clearance.

Here are some before and after pics, I wish I'd taken some of the new springs, maybe I'll take sopme of the new fronts, and add a pic of the car when everything's finished.

Andrew

Before: sitting really high in the air

After:

It looks good from behind... and those 275s make it look mean

Here's the front still sitting way too high

And a rear wheel now that they're lowered

If its like my experience, when you lower the front end it will raise the back end up some!

Yeah, I was told that lowering the front is going to raise the back, so when we do the setup we'll probably lower the rear a little bit more to make up for the change

Can you post a side view of the car now that it's lowered? One like the before pic

Steve,
Here are some side shots, I hadn't posted any because I was going to wait until I had the front lowered, but you can see where I want the rear to end up when we do the setup on the car. You can see that the driver's side rear is a little higher than the passenger, I did the first adjustments by eye when installing the new springs, so that'll be sorted out later too. The height of the passenger side is where I'd like them both to end up.

Lol, I don't know of I want to bottom the car out, but once the new springs are on the front we'll see how low the can get and still be an ok daily driver.

Angry

well, dropping the front did not go as planned... the brake lines were so corroded that they couldn't be removed without twisting them, so I had to order new brake lines, which of course can't get here until Monday... I knew the rears went on too easily... something had to go wrong to balance it out.

When I removed my brake lines, they corroded too. I went to AutoZone and got some VW flare-end lines and replaced them that day. No problems.

well, I knew i could make some new ones, but I didn't feel like bending all of the metal, and new ones were only $8 from Porsche, so... it made sense to wait on the stock ones.

I was just kidding with the pic I posted. Having it that low would to close to impossible to drive on the streets
