So much for those concours points :-)

So much for that spotless toolkit....

Coming back from an SCCA autocross yesterday in Gainesville, the throttle linkage between the tranny bellcrank and the throttlebodies broke. I used the smallest combo wrench in the original toolkit as a splint, with 4 small wormgear hose clamps to keep the ends together......It got me the 130 miles home.

Despite lying under the car at the side of the road, I was chuckling, thinking how much damage I was doing to the wrench. It's a tool kit for pete's sake.

I'll post pics when I take it off to repair it.

Oh, does anyone have this linkage for a 69E? Probably all the same for the MFI cars.

You need to post a pic for the anti-concours web site. We can put it next to the burrito warming on the sheet metal.

I've got one. I converted my '69 E with MFI to a 3.0 with PMO carbs. MFI rod didn't work...bought a 911T rod and that works.

New ones couldn't be that expensive...I think the 911T rod was like $70

I've posted a pic of the repair (which, when removed and pulled on, actually looks/feels strong enough to last quite a while) on our website

Chuck, how much do you want for the thingie?

Yep, it's the best kind, it got me home. I tried the string through the decklid, but it's the wrong angle on a MFI car.

Hey, so did you get that part I sent you?

Haven't seen any magazines hit the mailbox yet...
