Magnacor Wires - How are they any different than any other spiral wound core brand?
I've been using various reputable brands that utilize spiral wound cores, namely Bosch, Accel, NGK, Moroso, etc. on my other vehicles. What makes Magnacor so superior? Incidently, all wires using this feature seem prone to eventual embrittlement of the wire wound core and breakage. In fact, that is the usual failure in my experience over the last 28yrs using this type. Does Magnacor offer an advantage other than additional thickness of insulator (makes it a pain to install in some applications)? I'm about to change wires on my '87 and looking towards a Bosch set.

I've wondered that as well. Good wire and insulation aside, perhaps it's the connectors they use or the bright colors offered.

the same thing that seperates different brands of whiskey, cigarettes, tires, etc. you just decide that they are the cat's ass, and the deal's done.

I think it's there close attention to emi (electro magnetic impulse) suppression. I tell you one thing, i've used msd wires on a 44, and if you spray water around them at night you can watch a light show. The magnecors do not, and they are relitively inexpensive compared to factory wires.
