What is "American Roadster"?
A friend of mine's Dad is selling his '92 911 "American Roadster". Can somebody give me an explanation of what that is? Is it something really collectable, or just a maketing name applied to a standard '92?

I think the american roadster is a wide body cabriolet.

Vance,
I believe the '92 America Roadster was basically just a widebody C2 cab, with C2 turbo brakes and suspension. 250 built, although I think that there were a handful of '93 cars as well. I seem to recall that they were nominally to commemorate the the 40th anniversary of the '52 America Roadster. "Collectible" or not is probably dependent upon the buyer... ![]() Good luck, Tim ![]() |
