What is "American Roadster"?
A friend of mine's Dad is selling his '92 911 "American Roadster". Can somebody give me an explanation of what that is? Is it something really collectable, or just a maketing name applied to a standard '92?

I think the american roadster is a wide body cabriolet.

I believe the '92 America Roadster was basically just a widebody C2 cab, with C2 turbo brakes and suspension. 250 built, although I think that there were a handful of '93 cars as well. I seem to recall that they were nominally to commemorate the the 40th anniversary of the '52 America Roadster. "Collectible" or not is probably dependent upon the buyer...  Good luck, Tim

american roadster? other than the licenceplate and the fuel in it's tank, i don't think there's much american 'bout it
