quick stupid question on bumper seal install...

the godzillas and i are going to install the rear bumpers today but we forgot which way the bumper seals go (it's been over 4 months since i dis-assembled the car). does the groove of the seal mate to the bumper or does it mate to the body? pic 1 shows the install with the groove of the seal mating to the body and pic 2 shows it mating to the bumper. i am inclined to install according to pic 2 - with the 3 "ribs" up.
the godzillas and i appreciate the feedback.

Just did this seal about 2 weeks ago.

The groove mates to the body. Your top pic with the sticky strip up towards the body is correct.

thank you fritz! much appreciated.

moses - it's the "cube", otherwise known as the toaster or tissue box to the anti-mac folks. g4 process, 450 mhz, yada yada. great work horse. released 1 year only and then discontinued.
