3m Adhesive Goo Removal

When the paint shop reattached my seal some excess 3m adhesive squeezed out and is visible when the front hood is shut. I had a can but can't find it. It usually says how to remove it on the can. Anybody have an idea on how to remove small amounts of over flow? Tried some TAR and BUG remover, some mineral spirits on a q-tip – no worky. Thanks for any ideas.

3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner. Should be able to pick it up at any auto parts store.

You can get it in an aerosol can. Works great for tar removal, too.

Got some of the 3m stuff in half pint....that will last me a life time....works great and very little work to remove the goo. Pricey though...$6.99 at PeP-Boys.

Thanks for the replies.

I typically use Goo Gone or Goof Off for this stuff. But I found an aerosol adhesive remover called Sticker Shock that works even better. It was at Auto Zone (a local Pep-Boys type joint).

Either way, let it work in for a bit, and rub off with a soaked Q-tip swab. Gets you right into the edge.

I've been using my wifes acetone fingernail polish remover. Get a q-tip soaked and it is very strategic and cheap.
