back-dating heater, pop off valve question

It looks like my current modifications to my 1980 SC will require I remove the electric heater blower.
I've read that it is necessary to maintain air flow through the heat exchangers to keep them from getting too hot even when the heater is not in use. is this correct? If not I could just block off the holes in the ducts.

Are the parts required for the back-date available used?
I've seen the prices for the new ducting, wow.

I also need to permanently seal my pop-off valve. Any ideas?
I know that's off the wall but I need to keep it from opening under boost. Oops, I let the secret out. I really don't want to have to pull the air box completely off the engine if I don't have to. I've thought about a big blob of epoxy over it (not real thrilled about that option) or installing a bracket over it to keep it closed.

I'm also in the market for one lower turbo valve cover, used is good, cheap is better, slightly warped is OK. I have access to a mill and a lapping table so I could repair one if it is warped.

If anyone has a copy of the original BAE turbo installation instructions that would be a big help also. I've PM'ed two board members who might have the instructions but haven't heard back just yet.

TIA

No, you still get ariflow from the engine fan all the time anyway.

I got mine used, from a guy going to headers, so they do come up from time to time.

Good luck,

Tom

Epoxy would seal the lid on your pop-off-valve shut.
My guess is that a bad backfire would blow out the whole valve if the lid is sealed.
