DME Relay that is, but if you want to apply it to your personal life... more power to you.
![]() My DME relay died last week, the car shut down and I was stranded miles from home. Not having my replacement in the car, I had the car trucked back home at a tab of $180. The replacement DME relay, which was sitting on my kitchen countertop after a cleaning of the car... fixed the problem. I am thankful that it was just the relay and not a fuel pump or more severe problem... but Im kicking myself for not bringing protection with me on the road. That will never happen again. Dont let it happen to you!

I replaced mine before it failed, just to be on the safe side. I took the old one, put it into a ziplock bag, and stuck it in the glove box. It was working when I removed it, so it will likely get me home if the new one fails. Cheap insurance!

I feel your pain. Same thing happened to me with a bad fuel pump relay. Had to have the car towed from PA to MD.
I wasn't happy when I found out that I could have jumped the relay to get home. There's a thread around here listing key parts to carry with you...clutch cable is probably one of them.
