First Pics of my new project

OK here it is finally in one piece in my garage (the second pic). If the weather would cooperate (probably won't until March) I could actually take it for a ride.

I bought this car from a Pelicanite back in August (thanks Kirk) and have been enjoying it since. So far I have put in carpet, seats, turbo rear torsion bars, neatrix bushings, Euro headlights, short shift kit and a few other details. Also, I picked up a used set of 16x6/7 Fuchs and polished them out myself. It was actually fun in a sick sort of way. So the lower pick is what I will call stage one complete. It is driveable, but needs some small things done. Over the next couple of years I will rebuild the engine, strip and paint it, and basically hot-rod it out.

BTW thanks for the help so far I have recieved here in direct responses and old threads. Without it I don't think I would have made it this far.

When it got delivered with no interior and a stuck throttle.

After weeks of spending too much time in the garage.

Looks great Kevin. How much time did you spend on the wheels? I want to install euro H-4s myself. Looks like your working space isn't much bigger than mine. At least wintertime I don't feel bad about having my car all taken apart.

Thanks Paul. I spent about 40 hours total on the wheels. The were originally all black centered so it took a while to strip them and then get out the deep marks from the heavy grit sand paper.. I would do it again if I had to, but I think I learned a few tricks to speed up the process. The space is a little tight, esecially when I have the car scattered, but it allows me to work on it all winter and keeps my daily drivers warm on the cold days.

Quaz,
I actually bought my car in Mil(well New Berlin). That's a really nice looking targa, just keep it off the road during your nasty winters.

Thanks for the compliments. As far as I know the color is just light yellow. (there are about 4 different shades on the car from various repairs and repaint attempts) Right now the car is a good 10 footer. From 10 feet away it looks great. Closer then that and it has some warts. The wheels definately help. I think they compliment the color on any 911.

Marc,
The carpet wasn't too bad. The only advice I have is to use a little heat when the pieces get stubborn. I used a heat gun, but be very careful because you can melt the carpet quickly. Just go slow and you will be fine. If you get frustrated walk away and work on it later.
