Not looking to hijack but wondered, does the c-3 have a mag or alum block? Do they have problems with pulled studs?

Yup, the AL case. Old style valve guides though. I'm getting ready to deal with that right now.

The cases are pretty desireable from what I understand, since they're great candidates for hotrod rebuilds.

Al block, but the Turbo 3.0, NOT the Turbo 3.3 (and SC) block. The block, crank and rods are much lighter, which makes for a livelier engine.

My favorite

My 77 3.0 Carrera I bought from the original owner in 1984 in Weisbaden, Germany. Here is a picture of it before putting it away for the winter. It now has only 42K original miles!

They are very desirable middle-year cars. Not too common down-under...

Kokkelix,
here is my -77 Carrera 3.0. I think we both are in same PCF but newer been in same place at same time with our cars? I missed that trackday last summer from were your first picture is? My car should be in very original shape with 7+8/15 Fuchs.

Al G so what'is that sport spec? I have also noticed some where else mentioned sport spec, but what is the difference? Was that some UK only option or something?

Damn! You guys are killing me. Maybe I should look into a nice little C3 one day.

Hey Noah: remember when you weighed your current car? How much did you take out of it to get it so light? I'm still amazed!

Noah - I highly recommend the lightweight battery, and yes, in the smuggler's box!

Hmmm...I'd like to remove my doorbeams. I think fiberglass doors are a little too radical.

They are light. Mine weighed in at just over 2300lbs when I did my corner balance. That with the fun C3 engine makes for a great driving car.

SC owners may object, but I drove a stock SC the other day and it just seemed to crawl in comparison.
