Engine size question. How wide a door can you fit an SC motor through?

This is kinda of a silly question but I am trying to find the best place to work on my engine and my best option requires passing the engine through a 36" doorway and I am wondering if it will fit. At 450 lbs I don't think I'll have the option of angling it and trying three or four different positions like one would if it were a piece of furniture. Anyone have any experience here or know the theoretical "box" that a 911SC motor would fit in?

I rebuilt my engine in my 2nd floor library.. then 2X4 crate and hand truck thru 28in, molding to molding, door.......Ron

If this doesn't beg for photos when you actually attempt it nothing does.

I see america's funniest home videos all over this one!

(If it works, tell me...I might try it....;) )

Yeah maybe the $10,000 first prize would pay for the damage done when I drop it on the floor....or the cost to rebuild once I get halfway through and break out the chain saw.

The 1000lb Harbor Freight stand is 31"x37"x34". Does anyone know if that is LxWxH, or WxLxH, etc?

Isn't a standard college prank to break up a prof's VW and put it in the courtyard or the 5th floor lounge? I think it's gotta fit!

dimension

I asked a similar question once before. Someone in this thread mentioned 36" width for a 3.0L:

I think it's all 2X6
it was constructed to be tossed around by 2 and 3 big guys without any tension whatsoever on the towers, heads, and studs
......Ron

remeber folks, no funny, no money.....

I know it would fit piece by piece..

I imagine if you strip off the heat exchangers and intake assy. should fit fine flipped 90degrees. Kinda awkward though...

I would guess there is no Mrs. Ronin. If I attempted to rebuild in the second floor library there would no longer be a Mrs. Wilke...

I remember a post awhile back w/ a link to a ricer forum where this guy built an engine in his basement then realised it was too big to get up the stairs. Really funny.

LOL
I'm married.
I also didn't start any bad habits by changing my routine from the single life. What she first met is what she still has. She tried to fix it, like they all tried to do. It's part of the female hidden master plan. All they really need is to feel safe when their male is around, and pounded to feel sexy, period...
