Fuel pressure gauge / oil pressure gauge?

I have an 83 Euro with K-basic CIS.
I have had continuous problems with the system because of mismatched parts.
I still have the original mixture control unit but have a 79 US fuel distributer sitting on top of it. I have been struggling to figure out what the difference are between the 79 FD (911 110 967 00) and the 83 Euro FD (911 110 977 00).

The mixture control unit has the cone shaped metering funnel with 3 angles. It is intended to run a little rich at idle then lean out for light loads and richen up with high air flow. The acceleration enrichment is acheived by lowering control pressure when manifold vacuum drops as the throttle opens.

I have an A/F meter that I installed a few months ago. I can watch the meter reflect what is happening to the exhaust gas.
My problem is that during light load conditions the mixture leans out above the scale 17:1. This is not right. When I stomp on it It the acceleration enrichment doesn't seem to react quickly enough.

Ultimately the engine get's a lean miss which will not stop unless I shut the engine off and restart it.

I've checked the fuel pressures at idle. I have actually lowered the warm control pressure to get the plate to rise more. Both system pressure and control pressure are good. The control pressure drops like it should with the vacuum line disconnected.

The problem is that I can't watch this as I drive to confirm that it's working.
I want a fuel pressure gauge that I can watch while driving.
The hose on my test set is only about 2' long.
My first thought was to buy and install a gauge, but that will only clutter things up. I was thinking of buying an oil pressure sending unit to match the oil pressure gauge and just run the existing wire and gauge. I will put a T in the control pressure line that comes off the top of the Control pressure regulator. The pressure sending unit will go in the T.

Will this work? temporarily? I will still have my idiot light and oil pressure switch monitoring the oil pressure.
I bought a cheapo oil pressure gauge and sender. (Actron)
It has a 0-100 psi readout. The sender has a 1/8" npt connection like most US I think. I think it came with the 10mm adapter which I think will fit the therads on the top of the control pressure regulator. With this setup I hope to watch my control pressure from my dash board.
I think most pressure senders work the same. No pressure =zero on the gauge and the top of the range will register at the top of the gauge. I have seen this on web sites for a few different gauge manufacturers. Does anyone know if the VDO gauge is the same or different. If it woks the scale won't be right or I need to find a sender that goes from 0-5bar.

Any ideas out there?
