need advice/instruction on momo hub adapt install

hi

got a prototipo and hub adaptor, and there are no fitting instructions. i thought it would be straightforward but there are some parts i am unsure about.

there are the 6 screws for attaching wheel to hub - thats ok. but
then there are 3 self tapping screws - what are they for?

two cables. one is obviously an extension for oe (green and yellow), but what about the black one (has one bare end and one with female spade).

any insights appreciated.:)

Check out this article: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Mult_Steering_Wheel/Mult_Steering_Wheel.htm

Also, try a search on "Momo" or some such and there are several threads which should help out.

Actually... the job of replacing a steering wheel actually becomes easier as you go through it. Seeing the diagrams is one thing, seeing it "in the flesh" is even better, and things just make sense all of a sudden.

Good luck,
Tom

On mine the three screws were for attachment of the horn ring.

edit; oops, I now see you figured it out . . . never mind

Hey dickster, when you get it installed, will you take a picture?

I'd like to see the prototipo in a Carrera.

Thanks.

The instructions are for the other people.

I put on a momo wheel about eight months ago. The wheel itself is great, I love the way it looks and feels, one of the nicer little things I've done to the car. You'll have a lot of fun with it.

At the time I didn't care that there were no instructions. I installed the wheel in an afternoon, it was very straight forward.

Only my horn didn't work and my directionals would no longer cancel on their own after I made a turn. Hmm... so this is what a racing wheel is like, I cancel my own directionals because... it keeps me more involved in the process of driving... and there is no horn because... race cars don't use horns?

Later I pulled the part off the old wheel that completes the install.

Yea, instructions are for the other people.
