This one was a very good puller. It had a 5.0 V8 EFI transplant but even with the original V8 these are great and inexpensive to buy and keep up: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1070923110.jpg |

Here is what we use now. Notice the full steel trailer and the American made heap that weighs more than any 911 ever will. :) George http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1070924367.jpg |

Pay attention to those telling you about Troopers! The Isuzu Trooper is one of the most under appreciated beasts out there. These trucks are built like tanks. They are very simple and do the job they were designed to do extremely well. I drive a 1989 Trooper II with 6 cyl as a "hack". Its beat up, had a big dent in the passenger front door and has 180K+ miles. I have been saying I would replace it just as soon as it dies. It wont. I dont change the oil, but do add a quart or two per year. I dont change the coolant. I did change brake pads a few years back. Basically... I do no maintenance and beat the crap out of it. It will not die and has NEVER broken down. A good friend and I spent a month in Costa Rica in 1994. We shipped an old Trooper down there, flew down and took a bus to the port. We cleared it through customs, drove it around for a month and then sold it. WE drove that thing everywhere. Down dirt paths in knee deep mud, up the side of an active volcano, through a river, EVERYWHERE. I mean we really beat the crap out of it. Never a complaint... My wife drives a 2000 Trooper daily. She has put 30,000 miles a year on it for the past 2 years. Never a hiccup. These trucks just run and run. They ride pretty well, have plenty of power, can tow with ease up to 5500lb, have lots of interior room and seem to NEVER give any mechanical problems. The used car market seems to ignore them. They are dirt cheap. You can get a 2000 Trooper with under 50K miles for well under $10K. Anyhow... Isuzu is the ticket. For what you pay I cant think of any other truck that you can beat the crap out of and never worry. Terry |

Terry: Do yourself a favor and change the oil. At least the filter! Otherwise even the trooper will be in the pooper. George |
