Please help IDing this part (or debris)
I found this laying on top of my number 6 cylinder after removing the air shroud. It was laying right next to the intake port, on the side closest to the front of the car. I think it is made out of steel, and it is not more than 1/32 thick. It is curved almost exactly like a fin on the cooling fan.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1070739282.jpg It looks like a fin from the fan or deflector behind the alternator, but everything in those areas is accounted for. It looks like it broke away on the left side, but a long time ago, as the broken edge is definitely not clean. Thanks, Olivier |
It very possibly could be part of the sheetmetal that's attached to the bottom of the shroud that deflects air into the oil cooler.
See if you are missing this piece: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1070747497.jpg Thank Doug E. for the Pic..... |
No, I have that piece, it had one loose rivet that I just replaced.
I checked that and the back of the alternator very carefully. I am thinking it may be from a previous repair. Olivier |
