Porsche Crest Longhood respray pics

Well, she's mostly done, looking fine in all that purpleness. I was going to post this in the 'Winter Projects' thread but it seems have vanished unday a mass of saturday postings.

I've put some pictures up in my Gallery:

Aubergine goodness

A taster:

Still needs the bumpers and foglamps doing, then engine goes back in over the holiday. Getting the rear screen back in with the heating element connections was a real pita.

Looking great Phil. The satisfaction of it all starting to kick in yet?

The rear screen is absolute murder to do.

Aubergine has to be one of the greatest Porsche colors ever. It'll look great in the bright sunshine. Nice job, Phil!
Ever notice how the design of a car makes it look either good or bad in certain colors? To my eye 911's look in most all colors whereas I don't like Corvettes or Panteras in black.

Car looks great...but I really like the trailer. Is that a custom number for the 911. Your car seems to just fit?

Thanks for the kind comments. Should be ready to go after the engine goes back in but with the salt on the roads in January I doubt it'll see much action until the weather improves. Roll on summer!

The trailer is the very same one we hired to haul it 280 miles when we bought it in December 2000. At the time we weren't sure if it would fit but as you can see, it works pretty well.

Nice project. Purple might be an odd colour for a lot of people, but I'm guessing it's fairly run of the mill for a Messerschmidt guy.

Talk about an odd automotive fetish!
