New Member/ introduction and question
Rick M. has been telling me about this site for awhile, so I finally decide to take a look. Well, currently I have a stock 2001 996 cab
that I have mixed emotions over. More importantly, I have a 1997 993 that was noramally aspirated. About 2 years ago I took my 993 to Protomotive in Pomton lakes Nj. Protomotive explained to me that they provide 3 Stages of up performance upgrades. Stage 1- simply was to strap on a pair of turbo's and a custom built intercooler and twink with the computer and keep my Turbo's at .04 bar. This would bring me approx. 415 hp. Stage 2 was to drop the compression, bigger fuel injectors and go to 1.4 bar, this would bring me approx. 550 hp. Stage 3 was a complete rebuld, which by the sounds of it was more engine they I needed. Currently, I am at stage 1 and for a number of reason, looking for another performance shop that can upgrade my car to a Stage 2. Specifically, a shop that has had experience with this type of upgrade and located in the North East . (CT to Philly.) Please Advise I look forward to getting to know you guys, sounds like a great group. Last edited by Perry T; 12-08-2003 at 08:01 AM.. |

Search for Juan's posts, he's the pioneer on this board when it comes to wild turbo upgrades

Unfortunately Juan is on the "other" coast. Does anyone know of a high end "tuner" other than Proto on the East coast?

Here in Florida there is a shop called German Tech. The owner's name is Joe Vetter. They are the TECHART dealer for this area of the US. I personally know of in excess of 25 high end tuning projects on 993's he has done with TECHART upgrades that are unreal (I am sure he has done probably 20 or 30 times that amount that I don't know of personally) The guy really knows how to make hp. I was in his shop last week and he was working on a 3.8L conversion on a normally aspirated C2 that is expected in the 400-425 hp range when all is said and done. He has cars shipped to his shop from all over the country and I would trust him with my mom's car. Here is their web site http://www.germantech.com/
So if a trip to sunny Florida isn't out of the question during those nasty winter months up there, give Joe a call and talk to him. Good luck.

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul! |

Welcome to the board, you might want to check out some shops in the DC area, there are alot that could help you with your upgrades. Check out Autothority in N.Va, see what they might be able to offer you.
