My '83 distributor is ready to die as I have started to get the surging, erratic idle, popping, and as a confirmation, the freeplay when wiggling the shaft where the rotor mounts.
Before I spend $600.00 on a Bosch, is there a better unit out there? I do not mind spending the extra $$ for a better one. This may not be applicable, but I also have an MSD ready to be installed so if this matter, I am laying my cards on the table.....and my MSD is not compatible. Thanks!!!!!! |

After the negative and expensive experience I had with a Permatune ignition which was solved by putting back the Bosch CD box (23 years old no less), use Bosch. Yes I realize you are speaking of the distributor, but the principal is the same.

Cab: These guys might be able to rebuild your unit. They're local (Commerce). Why not just rebuild yours and save tons of money in the process?
