Quick Fuchs question
8x16 for the rear is 10,6 in offset. What are the 8x16 for the front? 23,3? Help I can't remember.
(Working on an incredible deal) |
23mm is correct for 7s on the front of a 911.
I've never run 8s on the front of a narrow body car, so I don't know the offset that would work. I would think the bodywork would dictate more positive offset on an 8... |
Mikkel,
Yes. The offset for the front 16x8 you want is the 951/944 Turbo wheel that has a +23.3mm o/s just like the 911 16x7. Tech is right that a 8 in. front wheel can be made to fit better than the 944 Turbo 16x8. Ask some of the people who run Fikse', Kinesis, custom Fuchs, Simmons, whatever........... and you'll see that their front 8 in. wheels have more positive offset to help with the body clearance issue. See Bill's chart under the Front Apps group on this page to see what I mean: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=124791&perpage=20&highl ight=wheel%20info&pagenumber=2 |
Yes that's a nice chart. I thought that it was possible to fit 8x16 at the front. I already have a bit of negative camber due to the 7,5x17 I have on my car now. I could go for 225/45x16 instead of 225/50x16 if the latter size is known to rub. But the chart says 225/50x16 will fit.
In any case the deal that I'm working on (well actually it's my mechanic) includes 2 8x16 and 2 9x16. So 7's are out of the question. Thanks for the quick answers SmileWavy |
89911 had a problem with 225/50 on 951 16x8's up front. His car is set up for track use so he's got aggressive alignment settings and a low ride height. Mike had clearance problems and decided to switch to the shorter 225/45. Not sure if his fenders are clearanced or not.
Just something to keep in mind. |
