76 911, where does the tach wire go?

I have a 76 car. I have switched over to MSD with good success. The only question that I have is where is(was) the purple and black wire plugged in at. I am pretty sure that all I need to do is plug it into the side of my 6BTM box and the tach will work, but I don't know where the wire is on my wiring harness and where it was hooked up originally.

thanks
Oscar

it tapped off of the wire that went to the points. it can be dug out of the loom to the 14 pin plug if you can't find it otherwise. to may need a MSD tach stabilizer if the tach swings wildly. my old 76 did.

I can't find a black and purple wire that came from my distributor. I did find a black w/purple stripes that comes from the inside of the electrical panel on the left. It goes into a plug that went into the 3 plug CDI box. the Purple wire is split into two in a 2pin plug where it splits into 2 white wires that went to the two outside pin's on my CDI box.

Suggestions?

Any thoughts?

I'm not really following what's going on.

The MSD tach output goes to the tach wire black/purple. Find that wire inside the harness before it splits at the connector and goes rearward.

the white MSD goes to the points terminal on the dizzy

the large MSD red should go to the hot starter lug

the large MSD black should go to a very good chassis ground.

the small MSD red is the on/off trigger.. use the engine comp elec fuse panel.. confirm that MSD is off without key turned on..

What else ?
