Has anyone ever seen this unit before

I recently just bought out a large used porsche parts dealer. Included were 9 complete but rusty cars and a tractor trailer load of new and used early car(1965 to 1983) parts. This was from a very early 3 gauge euro model with some weird stuff. It had some cool looking plaid seats and very different radio unit(2 part with amp) as well as very different dash switches(all stock). The antenna was mounted in the rear right quarter panel ! The front struts were unadjustable too. There was a unremoveable fender/frame mounted washer bottle that could not be acessed without cutting open the frame(picured below) Anyways this appears to be a power brake booster unit. It had a 1/2 hose running from it which went to the motor. And was tied into the brake lines. Anyone know if its a true porsche part or was it added by a previous owner ?

I can't believe that a mess like that was built by the factory.
It has to be an add-on.

I'm no help, and haven't the slightest idea what it is, but is that in the "smuggler's box" and might it be some heating contraption??? Looks a bit like a hot-air blower to me! Nice rust, BTW!

It's one of those "sentinel" killer robots from The Matrix. Use an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) to get rid of it.

That style of washer bottle was fitted to early 911's up to mid-'65.

It looks like some type of vacuum assisted hydraulic servo unit; given it's location and the line routing I would guess it's for power assisted steering. Jim

Maybe it has something to do with an early hydropneumatic suspenision car?
