Help it's winter!!!

This is my first winter with my 82 911SC and I am confused by all the advice on how to deal with the winter. I'm in NYC, and I would love to drive it during the winter as long as the roads are clear and dry. I'm just afraid of the salt. My confusion is from all the things I have heard...some say to put it up on stands, drain the oil and gas. Others say just leave it alone. Should I start it and let it idle (again...some say not to do that).? How long should it run for? What about the tires? Do they get flat spots? I'd like to just leave it be and start it up once a week, just to hear it run. Maybe drive it around the block??? I've heard unless you take it on long rides, that isn't good either. Any advice??? HELP!!!!
