"Bang" goes the tranny!

Well, actually it went "bang" as it popped out of first gear. Now if I hold it in first as I let the clutch out I feel the shift lever pulsing followed by its popping back out of gear.

This is a 915. What broke?

Eric

most of the pressed on syncro teeth on 1st. they commonly break off and allow the syncro ring to relax/expand and block the shift sleeve from going over it anymore. best not to drive it, or chunks might go thru the gear teeth and cause a lot more damage.

Thanks. Its at home and I won't be driving it until the engine/trans comes out and is fixed.

Greenwood Ave, huh? That used to be my old stomping grounds.
