Per Jack's request to have another, how about it?

Same place, same time, same roads, same eatery...

This time I'll print up maps.

Whatcha' guys think? The more we do it, the better we get...:D

Jack Olsen 12-13-2003 04:02 PM

;)

Hilarious! :D

I thought it was that irritating nosehair problem so many men seem to get.

Jack Olsen 12-13-2003 04:12 PM

Could be.

Kids take the darndest pictures.

DByers 12-13-2003 04:20 PM

Sorry about that Jack, he just snaps away with that digital. If I was any good at photo shop I could have fixed it. I also got some video without sound from today. Any body know where I can host it and maybe compress it? it ended up being like 10mb but not that long, 30 sec I think. It was of most of the group coming down to the stop sign just after the bikes.

dd74 12-13-2003 04:24 PM

Dan: cherish the thought that you may have a future Spielberg or Avedon on your hands. :)

Sonic dB 12-13-2003 04:41 PM

I was hoping to attend one someday, but i will be in Phoenix on the 24th.

nostatic 12-13-2003 05:22 PM

if my car is done by then...

Bob's Flat-Six 12-13-2003 05:44 PM

Even if it isn't done come out and catch a ride with me or?

You'll need a serious 911 fix by then if it's not done. :)

MXMARK 12-13-2003 05:48 PM

This time I will be there. I have two cars ready to go. What time did you get to the lunch stop? I will have to go to work right after no lunch. Which car should I take? 914 built or 911 carrera stock?

Bob's Flat-Six 12-13-2003 06:00 PM

I think we got to lunch right around noon.
And bring which ever P-car has a full tank of gas. I burned 1/2 a tank today and I'm local. :)

MXMARK 12-13-2003 06:43 PM

Thank you Bob's Flat-Six, I should be able to make it back in time to finish the day at work. After refueling. Thanks again Mark

techweenie 12-13-2003 06:47 PM

Since a guy approached me just as we were leaving Gelsons to buy the blue E, I'm not sure what I'll be driving, but I'll be there.

I doubt my RS clone will be ready...

If I bring the Boxster will anyone speak to me?

MXMARK 12-13-2003 06:52 PM

Techweenie, That is funny. I will talk to you or shouldn't I talk to you. Hmmmmm.

Was that a hint???? Did you want the black one or the blue one? Maybe I'd better look into hiring some help.

techweenie 12-13-2003 06:56 PM

Sorry, Kevin, I should have been clear. It's the engine I'll be waiting for. The supplier is a week late with the head studs!

I'm sure you only have about a week's work to do on the black car...

KevinP73 12-13-2003 07:19 PM

I should have the white '74 for Rick finished in time for the 1st. If you have the motor ready I'll be sure to have your body work finished in time.

Moses 12-13-2003 09:24 PM

I missed this one. But I'll try to make the January run. Sounds like a great time.

dd74 12-13-2003 10:20 PM

Kev - thanks for hooking me up with Patricia. She's going to come up at our status meeting at work next week. I don't know yet what our line plan is, but if she can paint, that's a good thing.

If possible, please pass word on to her. Tell her she has a great car, too. Excellent color.

Thanks.

Moses: it's just your type of drive. There're lots of fairies in spandex with shaved legs and wearing Capezios to scare the crap out of with a nice set of dual out mufflers. :D

Seriously, it'd be great to get some Northern Cali guys down here, and great to try some Northern Cali roads in return.

So far Santa Barbara guys have made it (Dan Byers), but we're looking to expand. :D

italcarguy 12-13-2003 10:51 PM

i am game for january 24 as long as nothing conflicting comes up and if wayne takes his 308 so i don't feel like an outcast. wayne, you going on the new years day drive?

That's not my style at all. I sneak up behind them then blast 'em with the air horn. :)

andyu911 12-13-2003 11:27 PM

No problem for January 24th. I'll put it down on my calendar.

Bob's Flat-Six 12-13-2003 11:35 PM

Andy,
Nice to meet you today and your Co pilot, He was too Cool :)

andyu911 12-14-2003 12:23 AM

Nice to meet you too Bob. Too bad I couldn't stay for lunch this time and missed the chat session. :(

expat 12-14-2003 01:20 AM

I'll be there, if someone is willing to offer me a passenger seat.http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/happy.gif

I've got interviews, computer and internet purchasing, furniture and car buying to do all in the week prior, so I'll have Porsche withdrawl by the weekend.

Hey is that a new syndrome 'Porsche Withdrawl'.

Symptons - Irritability, lack of focus (on anything other that P-cars), desperate lack of interest in conversation with non-porsche people, migrane headaches from over-thinking when the last oil change was perfomed, insomnia associated with overactive extension of right foot while lying prone, twitching gear change hand, uncotrollable desire to make vroom vroom noises....

alfapwr 12-14-2003 08:01 AM

I'm hoping I can make it. Saturdays are hard since I work the graveyard shift until 6am ! Any of these runs done on Sundays?

If I do I'll be bringing this:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1071417168.jpg

1967 Alfa Romeo Duetto.

It'll be fun in the twisties with lowback buckets, lapbelts & a big wood steering wheel !

I'm considering a 911SC for my next project so it'd be a great opportunity to check'em out.

Ciao !

Dan
Stevenson Ranch

scottb 12-14-2003 06:11 PM

I'm in!

lateapex911 12-14-2003 06:54 PM

Thats a sweet Alfa!

You guys are killin' me! Another run?? Sigh...well, I do have a trip to Las Vegas for business the prior week,...hmmmmmm, how far away is Vegas?? I could expand my trip....

Of course, thinking about it, my 911 won't be with me. :( Oh well, have fun guys!

scottb 12-14-2003 07:08 PM

Todd, Expat, Jake (if you change your plans):

If my right seat is vacant, you're more than welcome to come along!

Scott

Mr9146 01-06-2004 02:54 PM

Bring this back to the top

I'll be there with bells on ... okay, fine, no bells. But I will be driving the 914 again WOOT WOOOT!!!!

nostatic 01-06-2004 02:56 PM

my son has been bugging me every morning: "is the porsche drive today?" He was pissed that I didn't wake him up for the New Year's run.

CHILI 01-06-2004 03:07 PM

I'm in! And the full tank of gas is a good suggestion. Ask me how I know.

I was pissed you didn't wake me for the New Year's run, sweetheart. :D

expat 01-06-2004 04:20 PM

Seriously bummed out :(

This bloody SARS thing is floating over out heads in Hong Kong.

Wife leaves this Sat. for LA and I was joining her the week of your drive, but I cant leave the kids at home with the threat of SARS re-emerging anytime soon.

I guess I'll have to wait till my next visit in April when the kids will be coming too. Hope I can catch up with you guys then.

Thanks for the offer on the ride Scott. Rain check eh!;)

anh911 01-06-2004 04:20 PM

here we go again, you left coast guys have all the fun. Can you rent a 911 out there? If so maybe I will fly out.

speeder 01-06-2004 06:17 PM

You can rent a new 911 here, (or a new anything else, for that matter), but it's not cheap. Here is a nice example of, "money can't buy me love, but it can rent it": http://www.budgetbeverlyhills.com/cgi-bin/vehicles.cgi?choice=detail&id=56

And Dan, if you bring that Alfa, I might have to drool on it. ;) But bring it anyways, God I love that car.

Tyson Schmidt 01-06-2004 06:39 PM

I'm in!

And this time, I drive Scruffy. I'm practically invisible to you guys when I drive the C2. I can just hear you all muttering under your breath.
