Bridgestone SO2 pole position vs non

I just got a pair of new front tires, Bridgestone SO2's, however they are not the same as the ones on my car. My old ones say "Pole Position" after the SO2, and the new ones don't. Plus the ratings are different, the old ones are 180/AA/A the new ones are 140/AA/A.

anyone able to tell me whats up?

Jim

From the numbers, I'd say the Pole's are a little stickier rubber.

They don't make the S-02 Pole Positions anymore. Main difference is the dual layer tread, which only the PPs have. The S-03 PPs have it, now.

so I guess I don't care about that minor difference and will put them on the front and keep the pole positions on the rear.

Seems like it might make a small difference, but they should be close enough that it will not matter.

Thanks for the info!!!!
