Recaro recall

Just got this in the mail .
Putting it out there in case anybody on here affected by it .






RECARO Automotive has informed us that it "classifies the racing seat "Profi SPG XL" of the years of construction 2017 to 2022 ("Product") as no longer suitable for use, as failure under certain operating conditions cannot be ruled out. The use of the products must be refrained from immediately, as the safety of the vehicle occupants can no longer be guaranteed when using the product."


This means you are no longer allowed to use this seat in official competitions. Recaro offers a total refund of the price you paid or an exchange for another Recaro product. They are currently working on a new seat similar to Profi SPG XL, but it is not expected earlier than October 2022. For a refund or exchange from Recaro, please find the details in their full letter attached.


Although the Recaro racing seats are currently considered the best, other well known manufacturers are also worth attention. You can visit the Racing seats section of our website or come to our showroom at Nürburgring Boulevard 2 to choose the right one for you.

Just FYI. I have these seats and been trying to come to a solution with Recaro. Recaro will not give you a full refund and only a partial (less that 50%) credit on another seat.

But I was kind of hoping it was a recall of 1979 Recaro Sports. A failure of the vinyl, and Recaro would like to recover them for free.

This happened some years ago and Recaro replaced my seat FOC.

Good luck. They gave me the runaround a few years ago with a faulty Pole Position.
