Just showing off my new stoneguards

They were surpisingly easy to put on !

I aligned it and taped half of it on .. stuck the top half ...pulled back and stuck the bottom half .

Worked like a charm.

The cheapest most dramatic improvement I made to my car !

A couple of small bubles but they easily come out with a pin prick!

Looks good.
I too bought a pair but am waiting till after I install new Torsion bars, so I don't have to cut little holes in them.

Those look nice! They actually make me think of a Turbo because when I was a lad and saw a p-car thats how they looked. Nice targa is that a euro? (side marker lites) paint looks great. Is that the original top or have you redone it? looks like new. I ask becuae I just recnetly aquired a targa and am just learning about the tops. See ya

Looks nice John! How are you enjoying a manual shift?

jk911 12-16-2003 04:30 PM

Good John,

But I still need to sort out a few issues with the clutch adjustment. I'm almost there but not quite.

Im waiting on an omega spring from Pelican. It should be in the mailbox any day now !

Your next project looks like its going to be awsome ! I can't wait to see your photo's

I really like the Design 90 wheels on an impact bumper car!

Do you know if you are running any wheel spacers?

jk911 12-16-2003 06:56 PM

Yeah there are spacers on those wheels. I don't think they would fit otherwise.

I bought the car like that and I don't like them !
I don't like the look. Its growing on me a bit but I would swap them for fuchs anyday !

maxnine11 12-16-2003 07:31 PM

Ohh yeah !

Thanks for that Max I really like it now !

You know every time I look at my car parked on the street that's the first thing that springs to mind !

Especially the front, it is way too high. I think one of my next projects is to lower it ! Its not hard to do it is it ?

The problem is that when I take a sharp turn the front tyres seem to rub on something. I have not looked into this yet but could this be a potential problem ?

maxnine11 12-16-2003 09:21 PM

you are probably running spacers as they are the later offset wheels. if the tires are rubbing on something on the inside of the wheel well, go to a slightly larger spacer. if the rubbing is occurring on the fender lip, a slightly thinner spacer might help.

I dodn't want to spend any money on these wheels so I don't really wont buy different spacers.

If I lower the car , do you know, if it will make things worse or better ??

jk911 12-17-2003 01:18 PM

I measured the hight of my front wheel arch to the ground and it was 27 inches high.

It should be about 25 shouldn't it ?

Larry Harris 12-17-2003 02:36 PM

JK911
25" should be perfect. You probably will have to address the front spacer problem before you are going to be happy!

jk911 12-17-2003 02:50 PM

I obviously need to research the topic of lowering but ina nutshell how do spacers and lowering affect each other on the front wheels ?

jk911 12-21-2003 08:09 PM

I was thinking about this post on the weekend and I decided to take a closer look at my wheels

The hight adjuster bolt on the left wheel is almost fully screwed out and the bolt on the right is almost fully screwed in ??? What's up with that ?

I noticed a bit of rubbing on the inner body of the car on both wheels (this happens when the wheels are fully locked right or left)

I have 40mm spaces in the front and 25 mm spaces at the back.

Tyres are 205/55/16" front and 225/50/16" back.

Any suggestions to lowering the car ?

Thanks
