I agree.
I buy GTPP purely for the pictures. The quality of the photography is very high (not surprisingly - it's run by the same guys who publish "EVO" magazine - another british modern performance car mag, definitely worth checking out.) http://www.evo.co.uk/ However, the text is pi$$ poor compared to a true enthusiasts mag like 911 & Porsche World. It seems from some articles, that for many of the journalists writing in GTPP, it's their first time ever in a Porsche......!!!

Agree with you completely. I'm a sucker for anything Porsche so buy GTPP probably on a monthly basis. And every month I as k myself why I've bothered. The latest issue (Feb) really did make me wonder! Oh, and they seem to have gone Cayenne mad.

I love EVO, love the editors attitudes and the writers, love reading about cars we will never see over here and the differences in ideas about what contitutes an acceptable car. But their Porsche magazine isn't worth it, it always seems to be a month behind Excellence and 911+PW with nothing new I can't get from those two magazines.

My girl bought me a subscription to it for my birthday last year and its running out. The eye candy in it sure is nice, but the articles are just so much rehashing of stuff (not even in depth) they have written before). They base articles on whatever some specialist has in stock at the moment who will loan them for some big exposure - not much in there for a hands on kinda guy. I justify it easily enough though - no magazine is going to have the same level of technical content you can get on this forum and on the Pelican site, so if I am going to buy a magazine I might as well buy one with lots of nice pictures!
They want another £45 off me to renew - I'll consider it if they offer me a discount - I'm not renewing for £2 off the cover price. A final thought; the latest issue has a test of the Cayenne V6. On the front it says Cayenne V6 - the best yet?
