What does "S" stand for on the 911S?

According to the "Ultimate Porsche Book" the SC was named after the 911S and the Carrera 3.0. So, what does The S stand for?

E is for 'Einspritzen' or whatever the german for 'injection' is. T is for 'Touring' I would guess.

One of the English Porsche magazines I read says it's for "Sportotipo".

Whether or not that's true...

I do believe it's a carry over from the 356 Super.

That sounds feasible and familiar.....Then it would stand for Super Carrera.
