uncomfy with real caliper piston seal..

i just finished one of my rear caliper rebuilds. when i installed the piston seal, i noticed it was a tiny bit thinner than the one i pulled out. if i had to guess, 0.5 mm. it dropped into the groove, but there was just the tiniest movement. in my frustration, i just lubed everything up, and pressed the piston in. i will look for leaks later? or should i just pull everything apart and check another rebuild kit? ok i went and measured, stock = 0.15 in and new = 0.12 in. so there is a 0.03in diff. the part # for my kit is 911 352 998 00. am i going to be screwed?

P.s. for the record, i think the difficulty level should be moved up in the book and the tech articles haha :)

Your old one has been distorted for years and has taken up the width of the groove.

Its not unusual for the new one to look loose since the piston is not in there squishing it out.

Do make sure they did not give you the wrong part though.
