I copied it from an Italian Porsche forum - Porschemania.

Well after the drive into work early this morning, I'm actually debating on selling the Cayenne!! It snowed last night and this thing just totally takes the fun out of driving. The damn stability management system just won't let you screw up. I finally turned the computer off manually so I could do some powerslides around the corners!!! :D

Nice!! I had an X5 and did the exact same thing...major fun. Scared the poo outta the wife though. Now I do it in her Discovery...she doesn't seem to like it as much as I do...

It's more fun in a '96 Chevy Silverado with 200k on the clock. You don't really want to hit anything but...

after going back to commuting in the 4-runner for 2 weeks, I'd take a Cayenne in a heartbeat.

I wouldn't *buy* one, but I'd take one...brother, can you spare an SUV?

Couple nights ago my friends and i went out off roading in upstate new york with two land rovers, a discovery and a range rover. Well, everything was fine and dandy until we got to a ditch that was pure ice, and while following the other rover, we had to stop because there was a tree blocking the path anything farther. So we got stuck in an ice ditch, and spent 2-3 hours breaking ice and rocking the truck to get it out (momentum is your best friend, remember that). Talk about an adventure, and the traction control didn't do a thing for you where we were, so much ice that it didn't matter.

You can't control traction when you don't have any...

The guy (Joe Boucher) that drives with Tom of Pelican Parts bought one. Has used it and won PCA rallies. Says he can't get comfortable in the seats.....it's up for sale or has already been sold.....had a rally computer and was an "S" model.

I've heard of a few others who couldn't get comfortable in the seats??? Strange, I set mine once and have NEVER adjusted them. Includes a couple of 6 hour drives without giving a thought to adjustment. BTW, I happen to know a neighbor and engineer who designs stability control systems for Continental Tire. He gave me 'secret' instructions on how to totally disable the PSM system. Just for kicks, of course. :D (even when turned "off" by the dash button it still actually functions, just at reduced sensitivity). Haven't tried it yet. Need more snow ........
