Not Going To Rebuild - Wayne, Thanks For The Book
Just a quick note for those that haven't purchased Wayne's engine rebuild book. I have no reason to rebuild, for a while I hope, but I bought the book just to farmiliarize myself more with the engine. However, it turns out it is filled with tons of valuable pictures and information useful for lots of items around the motor. I highly recommend the book to anyone doing some DIY work on the car.

the CD is GREAT

Everytime I look through it and his 101 Projects book I find something else that I can use immediately. Should be required reading for all Porsche owners.
Merry Christmas! |
I found out where the 1 inch piece of aluminum spacer (that fell off the top of the engine while I turned it upside down on the stand) goes. Underneath the accelerator console. Thank God I knew it went someplace. That's worth $19.95 to me.

I have a complaint about both of Wayne's books. the pages should have been laminated so my greasy finners don't get them all dirty ;)
Maybe I shoulda just bought two of each, one for the garage and one for the house. |
I stopped worrying about making the pages dirty on car books years ago. It shows I used them, not just read them.

Here's one you might want to try: photocopy the section(s) you need/use the most and then don't worry about ruining the book pages.
I made a copy of the torque specs and slipped them in a plastic sheet seeing as I use that info every time I put a piece back on my engine as I'm going through the rebuild :) |

Wayne's books are great in dealing with shop grease |
have you ever noticed how many chevy smallblock rebuild books are out there? as far as wayne's book, i havent seen much in terms of competition. my 101 book is covered with grease, when it gets too bad, i will just "thank" wayne again by buying another copy.
