Okay guys, the Atlanta Pelicanhead Holiday Porsche Chili & Beer fest is scheduled for December 27th, say 2pm or so at my place. Just reply to this thread to let me know you are coming and I'll send you directions.
If you have extra Christmas presents or stuff you received that you just hated, feel free to bring it here. I always need more stuff. Failing that, we will be providing sodas, chili, etc. You can also volunteer to bring bread, salads or whatever the heck else you feel goes with Chili. I can provide some beer but you deadbeats can bring extra! Gotta save some of my money for the P-car upgrades... I was thinking of removing the old tired 930 motor and replacing with something from Pratt & Whitney. Sort of like Mike Feinstein did. As mentioned before, this will be a child & wife friendly event. Please be forewarned that my five year old is already looking forward to kicking your collective butts in PS2. And the worst part is he probably can. So reply back if you can attend, and give me an e-mail address. You non-Atlanta Pelicanheads are welcome to attend, but you gotta bring your cars.

Pratt & Whitney??? You mean they make a turbine engine that will fit in a Carrera? Now you tell me!
Count on the Feinstein crew to be there...we'll bring the P-car (weather permitting)....as long as it can keep up with the sporty Pontiac Montana minivan on the way there. Chris...I gotta hand it to you... -Gas for your Turbo: $20 -Some sporty sunglasses: $100 -Announcing a party at your house on the world-wide-web: Priceless!

Fooey! I will be out-of-town. I guess I'll have to wait for the next opportunity to meet some of you Atlanta folks.

I just want to see how Mike's new 3.6 engine transplant stacks up against my 930. Should be interesting to compare how they feel for power delivery.
Plus there should be a couple of guys from Performance Imports here, so we can probe their minds while plying them with beer.

Chris,
I'm planning on coming over for a while. Most likely with my son, possibly the wife as well.

Anything going on next weekend in Atlanta? My wife and I will be driving the 993 down from NoVA on Jan 1st and staying a couple of days. Any recommendations on good Porsche roads in North GA? Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Chris, thanks to you and Jackie for the hospitality. Killer chilli.
Jim, If you are staying on the North Side, take GA HWY 400 North until it ends. Drive thru dahlonaga, blairsville, brass town bald areas. There are many good roads and the fall crowds will be non-existant along with the leaves on the treees. I don't have a map handy to tell you what the road #s are. Maybe someone can give you a good loop to run. Charles 88 Cab |

Thanks Charles. We'll be staying in Peachtree Corners (off PIB), so GA 400 is pretty easy to get to. I will also pick up a good map when we hit town.

You will be in the same area where some us live. If the weather is good next w'end (as it was today) it could be another top down day.

Mike,
Glad we ate after going for a spin in the 3.6 - if I had eaten before your interior wouldn't be so pristine any more! Man that new engine really rocks. But I have to wonder, what will you do when you get bored with the HP you have now? ... and Jim... if you are looking for company I'm sure we can russle up some interest in a drive through the hills. Just let us know if you want some company.

Thanks for the offer, C.H. It's always more fun to run with company. I don't have any idea about my itinerary yet, but I'll let you know when I can break loose for a drive.
edit: Update from my social director - anytime Friday (1/2) or Saturday (1/3).

Sorry I missed the party today, need to check the P board more often. I did go by the donut shop this morning, good crowd.
Jim, if you are in town on Sat next week, come by the cruse-in that is held every Saturday in Chamblee, Ga, s suburb of Atlanta on the north side of town. Very near Peachtree Corners where you are staying. Its put on by the Pantara Club but don’t remember their web site. Maybe someone can post? Bob
