My 911th post

If it hadn’t been for a serendipitous flick of the eyes, I probably would have missed the opportunity to memorialize this milestone.

911 posts in four years. That works out to be approx. 0.63 posts per day. I’m not the board’s most prolific member, nor am I its most selfless or popular. But I love this community, and I visit the BBS more than 0.63 times per day!

So, to celebrate my 911th post to the world’s best bulletin board, here are some fresh, aggrandizing pictures I took of my car along a stretch of classic country road that sits outside the front of my family’s own Camp David in northern Victoria.

Enjoy!

Well now you've got a choice. Do you get a new screen name so as to preserve the moment or do take the cruise of all the Porsche models post the 911. First stop the 912 then it's on to the 914, 916, and yes the 917!!!

Yes, this is the worlds greatest BB in part due to members as yourself.

Thanks

Bobby,

I'm not sure if I'll commemorate my 912th post!

Hal,

Is that 100 miles or kilometers per hour at 100?!

Very nice photos, Matt.

Those roads are a lot of fun, too.

Congrats

I hate to ruin the good mood, but I have to ask.

Why do you have a FORD sign on your car ?

Mikkel,

I needed a set of R-compound tyres, but I couldn't afford a set myself -- the rebuild didn't leave me with much change!

So, I contacted a client of mine, a small Ford dealership called Sunford. They were willing to pony up the dough for the tyres in exchange for modest signage.

I know it looks strange, but beggars can't be choosers! There's a guy in the Porsche Club of Victoria who received sponsorship from a local Toyota dealership. The aluminum doors of his 928 are adorned with the dealership's logo, which incorporates the Toyota logo. He makes me feel a little bit less like an idiot!

Cheers, Matt.

You've definitely given this board a great ride from the start.

Next milestone; 1974911

That is the coolest thing I've heard in a long time! Do you think they'll support top end rebuilds or maybe a new clutch?

Chris,

Well, it wasn't love at first sight! But I have grown to love Sahara Beige.

Island911,

That's a blast from the past! I forgot all about that spanking! Roland Kunz's reply was hilarious! I wonder where he's at ...

Mikkel,

I'd have to do a good sell job, which would be hard because these people can fit brand new, 400HP V8 engines for the price of a top-end rebuild!
