Did a lot of research on this board, before I bought my 930. Thanks to you guys, and Happy New Year to everyone, worldwide!

Elephant Racing released the bronze spring plate bushings.

Cary finished his shop, Thom is about finished with his, and I have paid a whole lot of money and still have nothing to show for mine.

I met a few more Pelican members.

Ryan and other mebers of the board were deployed to the Middle East.

Some So Cal Pelican members had a fright with a little wildfire.

And the best for me, I got to met and shake the hand of both the president and our new gov.

My recently restored and much loved 911SC blew up (literally) as I was driving her on the Massachusetts Turnpike. I posted a thread here...

Car blew up. Now what?

...seeking help and received tons of excellent advice which allowed me to negotiate a really good insurance settlement and purchase a 1989 Red 911C4 as a replacement. Not that you can ever replace a car that has been lovingly restored, but it certainly takes the sting out of the loss - as did the words of encouragement and empathy from the Pelican community. Can I say "Thank you" again?

Porsche Crest

Personally-
I got my car running and am driving it today, thanks to a lot of help from the guys (and gals) on this board; some of whom I bought parts from, got advise from, and even a couple who simply sent me stuff without asking for compensation!
(Karma and respect has me doing the same for others!)

Wayne and Co. (Pelican) supplied almost all the new parts I needed quickly and competitively priced.

1) I installed a recently rebuilt 2.7S in place of my old 2.0 liter T engine. Nice deal on engine from 'K9Handler'. (110HP to 185HP!)
2) Had my 901 rebuilt ($$$$) and I installed it with new clutch parts.
3) Rebuilt my starter, both carbs, pedal cluster, and shifter linkage adapter.
4) Repacked my front wheel bearings, got my rear bearings replaced, and painted my engine fan and housing while the alternator was out for inspection.
5) Replaced my gas tank front support and replaced the suspension bushings up there too with firmer sports style ones.
6) Gutted the interior then replaced and fixed the rust issues underneath, then reinstalled interior.
7) Replaced clutch cable, heat control cable, and lubed the other ones that were still there.
8) Went from stock tiny steel rims to my nice wide cookie cutters.

It's been a very productive year for my car and me!

Sold a 924S, bought a 911S, alienated myself with the RGruppe guys, decided to put a flat-6 in the 912, alienated myself with the 912 Registry guys, decided to not put a flat-6 in the 912, 912 Registry guys opened communications with me again, bought WAY too many die-cast Porsches (and two Ferraris... shh, don't tell!) and won a first place Autocross Award in my PCA Region.

There's more but I'm bored too...

Put a 930 engine in a super light car...
Smiled a lot...
Scared myself silly...
Smiled a lot more...

My two sisters got married.
My brother got married.
Had our first child! I smiled the most about that one.

I did a 3.6 swap all by myself borrowing tools and tapping into the vast knowledge of others here on the board. Then I went to a race track for the first time in my life and Tysen and Jack showed me what those cars are capable of. Finally the evil Tysen scared the crap out of me showing me what my car is capable of: 1:34 yeah baby....

Some firsts for me
- first engine drop
- first DIY involving machining and plating
- first experience with TIG welding
- first trackday, first AX
- first year over forty

I suppose the others make the last tolerable.

Bought my first 911...only to have it blow up 2 days later on the way home. Lots of good advice came my way by fellow Pelicanites. Found a 3 liter motor on the board, and with your help, got it stuffed in there. Thanks listeroos...

I survived loaning out all my tools to Ingo, building a garage on a city owned privately maintained by elitist snobs road, complaints by the same snobs, building a 356 outlaw, rebuilding a 356 outlaw, seeing my kids grow and mature to be cuddlier than ever........

2003, hmmm.....a series of ups and downs. But at least I wasn't found in a hole in the ground at gunpoint.....
