That paint job is awesome, looks like the owner paid a premium price. I wish I could be there if this car showed up at a PCA event to see the reaction. I agree with David, I would love that paint on a old pick up or a street rod, but not on a 911.

What do you think of this?
Another 911 with a custom orange paint job (actually the graphics are stickers), the Fast and the Furious-style.

"itsfun" actually looks like fun, there seems to be some serious HP there, a real cage, so I would love to take it out for a run on a track. I don't think I will ever get into the driffing thing, but the HP in the drifting cars could be fun if you were just going for lap times.

As for the 996 which started the thread, I am a big believer that those kinds of paintjobs have their place, I would not have put it on a 996 cab, but on a nice GT3 for the track, now your talking.

Looks like a high quality paint job, but it's on the wrong car. On a Cayenne however....

But there IS a warning in the ad:
"this car is clearly not for everyone! If you are in the witness protection program - forget it - in this car you will be noticed!"

Noticed? What do you mean noticed?

Oh my gosh, it's HIDEOUS !

I like Porsche styling as much as the rest of you ( that's why I'm looking for an SC! ), but PUHLEESE don't call it italian.

Now THIS is italian:

While I wouldn't be caught dead in a car like that I don't think it's so horrible. It looks like it was done well. There is a house in my neighborhood that is painted purple. I would never paint my house purple, but someone else likes it. It was done well, and it looks much nicer then the old, very worn paint that was on the house before. And it's just paint right? A new paint job, and you have a nice low mileage 911 cab.

All I can say is Woodside California... Those that have been there will understand. It might have changed in the 10 years that I have been there - but I doubt it. Haight Ashbury just got rich and moved there...

And nice picture Dan - now that's Italian!

Although the paint scheme is too loud for my taste, the overall job looks meticulously done. The paint looks based, candied, cleared and striped. It would look good on a Honda or Acura, not a Porsche.

Not saying it looks good or anything, but for a job that well done, why was it so cheap? You'd pay at least that here for a NORMAL respray, let alone a custom designed one.

I'm surprised that they didn't put a set of chrome deep dish 15 inch wheels on it and stick them way out of the wheelwells. That would have completed the look. And where is the DVD player and neon lights to light the bottom of the car?

That's the most effective anti-theft device I've ever seen.

I used to paint cars like that for a living. Believe me that took weeks to tape and paint. The attention to detail is meticulous and the quality of the paint application from what I can see in the photos is top shelf. This guy paid A LOT of money for that. But PLEASE why a Porsche? It would look great on a 32 high boy or some lead sled but God not a Porsche!

Damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I figured all those substances I abused in college had worked there way out of my system by now, But I do believe I might be having visual flashbacks. Pretty Trippy!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish I had that car up at school back then. All the same I think I will still go with the Arctic Silver. Oh yeah .... And stick with beer from now on.

I saw the car at my local dealership when it was in for service. It is a very good paint job. Owned by a lady. Looks like a surf board. Jeff

Do you have a picture of the lady who owns the car? Can't imagine how many colors she wears when she goes out!!
